Interpreting a Random Quantity

How can we get a handle on an outcome that seems random? Although the score of a Canucks game, a stock price, or river flow is uncertain, their outcomes can still be described. For example, we can discover a range of likely possibilities, or what the most likely outcome is, or even get a sense of a worst-case scenario. This part of the book describes how to do just that, by shedding light on concepts of probability and univariate analysis as they apply to data science.
